About
Years ago, one rainy blustery day in Manhattan while I was crossing a street, a person screamed at me, “BETTER WEAR A HAT!” At first it amused me but then later that day I ruminated on that phrase a bit more: It wasn’t merely a yelled suggestion to protect against rain, it was a directive for how to live life!
Hats and lots of them.
It’s pretty hard to quantify all that I do: Commercial Digital Artist probably comes the closest. I graduated from college with a degree in graphic design and illustration back when macs were in the Apple II stage of life. That’s a long, long time ago, isn’t it? Scary.
But since that time I learned to adapt to the whims of industry and wear many different hats. I worked for 20 years in New York City in advertising and graphic design as an art director, a production person, and as a digital retoucher. I also am skilled in web design (joomla, wordpress, CSS, PHP, Flash, etc.) as well as in video editing and production.
Occasionally I even find the time to illustrate for comicbooks.
And in 2009, once the majority of my clients worked solely over the web with me, I no longer needed to be trapped in the high cost of living confines of NYC, so I put on a cowboy hat and headed west to Portland, Oregon. (…of course once I arrived I found that everyone here in Portland wears either a Porkpie Hipster hat or a wool cap.)
But regardless, here I sit in Portland, happily working away with clients from all over the country who value my willingness to adapt to their demands and who enjoy the ease of working with me. Thanks to all my years of being in this business, there’s very little that I haven’t dealt with or have a solution to.
Enjoy my galleries of work. Feel free to contact me if you have a question or would like to see my resume. Plus if you need something created on a ridiculously quick turnaround, toss my name into the hat.

People ask me what I do. I tell them “Pretty much everything!” I’m one of those renaissance men that has a hand into everything. In college, i was an Illustration and Design major with a side interest in Video Art. Once out, I moved into Art direction for newspapers advertising. Along the way came the Mac and the digital revolution, which I adopted to for ad production and digital imaging. Then the web got big. I then moved into web design and implementation while also continuing my work in digital imaging and graphic design. The web design led to webmastering and that comes with it: databasing, php, javascript, etc. Then Flash got big. I then started using it to make banner ads and websites. Using Flash then got me interested in animation. The animation then got me interested back into Illustration and Video. So you see, everything is cyclical. Over the course of twenty years one can learn to wear plenty of hats.
